to math lovers who have other interests besides it

hello .

recently I'm thinking about my career , i will graduate from high school soon and now i dont know what path to follow .

these two years we studied a lot of math because of my field that is math focused and our program is so much interesting and hard too . so i did a lot of efforts and my level in math is good ( we studied integrals , complex numbers , arithmetic , matrix , functions like Ln and exponential ... with much theory )

so , that's why i loved the theory side and i somehow hate the practical side of science aka engineering , normally , everyone is waiting me to study engineering , bust I'm not that interested ..

so now i dont know , if i should just do engineering and experience it .. even if there is risk that i have a burnout because i dont like that path .

or i should do what i like even if everyone will judge me .. like why wasting time studying hard math then not go to engineering ..

what i like is journalism or to study political sciences .. but the problem is , i will meet there people who never studied math , most of them were literature fields .. and i will for the first time study something extremely far from what i studied in high school like math and physics . would it be a problem ?

or being a researcher in math , just theory . and sadly my country don't encourage researchers and it's really a bad idea here .

i think its good to switch paths and go for human related fields, for math i can study it in home simply , but to follow a path like engineering is so boring ..

what do you think ?

and did you have this problem too ? is there anyone who likes something else beside his love to math ?

i appreciate any advice .
