Should I drop out of my program?

Hi there,

I graduated in Neuroscience and eventually became really interested in Mathematics. I decided to pursue a Pure Math’s degree, last semester I took Linear Algebra I and this semester I am taking Analysis I and it couldn’t be more frustrating. What was once so appealing – the beauty of abstract algebraic structures – has now become frustrating and boring. I cannot imagine having to take Analysis I-III. And then the proofs, omg. The exercises from the text book that we are given are not designed to get a feel for the material, quite the opposite - the solutions require some fancy tricks I’ve never heard of and this is supposed to be introductory material...I‘m wondering, is this getting any better eventually or just something that I’d have to deal with?
