I am starting to regret choosing mathematics

for context i am a first year math student in a country where opportunities do not exist. I've always loved maths and physics and wanted to work at cern or nasa when i was younger. I tried an engineering degree but i found the physics too hard even though i loved it but i was failing so i decided to just do a math degree because it's my second passion. I also know that there's not much job opportunities for math graduates and i wish i would've just stuck with the engineering degree instead. At least then when i see opportunities for research in europe i could've been eligible to apply. It's always been my dream to study abroad but my family's finances don't allow it. I've tried researching opportunities for math students abroad but there wasn't much i could find. At first i was like "okay the world is coming to an end with the wars going on and ai is taking our jobs so i might as well pursue my passion of mathematics" but now that I'm getting older i realise i do in fact need a job to make a living. I'm finishing with the first year of my degree and I'm not sure where i should go from here on out
